Gatwick Airport has welcomed Air Nigeria as it begins a daily service to Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos, Nigeria. Departing from Gatwick at 09:50 the flight will arrive in Lagos at 17:50 with the returning flight leaving Lagos at 23:50 and landing at Gatwick at 05:50 the following day.

Air Nigeria will on May 16 commence scheduled direct flights from Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos to London Gatwick with affordable fares for a return economy ticket, while, it will also on May 17, commence flights to O.R. Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, South Africa, using a modern Airbus A330-200 aircraft to service both routes.

In its bid to further reinforce dominance in the African market, Air Nigeria is set to extend its route coverage to Freetown in Sierra Leone and Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo as well as improving connectivity between all existing 10 regional destinations by introducing new sectors and increased frequencies across existing routes.

Gatwick Airport today announced that Air Nigeria - the national flag carrier of Nigeria – is to launch its first international route outside Africa with a daily London-Lagos route from 1 September, strengthening the links between the financial and economic centres of the UK and Nigeria.
