The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has elected EVA Air President Clay Sun to its Board of Directors, making him the first Taiwanese representative to serve on the organization's highest governing body and marking the first participation by a Taiwan-based airline. The announcement was made at the 82nd IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The event took place at the João Paulo II Airport in Azores. The new service will operate three times per week throughout the summer season, offering customers a convenient direct connection between Ponta Delgada and Toronto in just over six hours. Flights will depart Ponta Delgada every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, with return services from Toronto on Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and Saturdays.
