Airbus and Lufthansa Group, at the opening of ILA Berlin Air Show, agreed on a series of further cooperative efforts and officially celebrated the 50th anniversary of their partnership which started with the delivery of the first A300 to Lufthansa in 1976.

Norwegian has entered into an agreement to acquire Nordic Leisure Travel Group (NLTG), the leading hotel and leisure travel experiences company in the Nordics. The transaction brings together household names and award-winning brands such as Ving, Spies, Tjäreborg, Globetrotter, and Sunclass Airlines with Norwegian and Widerøe, creating a stronger and unique end-to-end Nordic travel player. The acquisition combines NLTG’s expertise in packaged travel and hotels with Norwegian and Widerøe’s existing network with 27 million passengers. Together, the combined company will create a leading Nordic provider of leisure and business travel. For travellers, this means a wider selection of destinations, simpler bookings, and seamless travel.

RwandAir has been named Best Cabin Service in Africa at the 2026 APEX Awards, marking the first time the airline has received this recognition for its onboard customer experience. The award was presented during the APEX Future Travel Experience (FTE) EMEA event in Dublin and is based exclusively on independently verified passenger feedback from more than one million flights worldwide. The recognition is therefore a direct reflection of the experience delivered to customers onboard RwandAir flights.

Latvian airline airBaltic and EL AL Israel Airlines have announced a new codeshare agreement, effective from July 1, 2026. The partnership will expand travel options for customers and further strengthen airBaltic’s network for transit passengers travelling between Israel and Europe via Riga, Latvia.

Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, proudly announced the launch of two new European routes this June: direct services to Kraków, and Palma de Mallorca. These additions mark a significant milestone in Etihad’s expanding European network and reinforce Abu Dhabi’s role as one of the world’s most connected destinations. On 15 June, DAN AIR marks one year since launching operations to Syria. The airline became the first carrier from the European Union to operate direct scheduled flights between Romania and Syria, reconnecting the two countries after nearly 14 years during which Syria remained absent from the European air transport network. Over the past year, DAN AIR has transported more than 30,000 passengers on the Bucharest–Damascus–Bucharest route, while achieving an average load factor of 88%. One year after making European civil aviation history by resuming direct scheduled flights between the European Union and Syria, DAN AIR is further expanding its footprint in the region, becoming the only EU airline to operate scheduled services simultaneously to two Syrian cities: Damascus and Aleppo.
