World travellers chooses Travelport as its preferred GDS provider

Travelport, the business services provider to the global travel industry, has signed a multi-year agreement with World Travellers, a fast growing co-operative of owner-operated travel agencies in New Zealand. Through the new partnership, all World Travellers stores will obtain full access to Travelport’s Galileo GDS

The new GDS agreement will include access to the Galileo Desktop as well as the leading mid-back office solution, CrossCheck Travel Enterprise, ensuring agency managers enjoy seamless client management, accounting and reporting functions. World Travellers’ 14 member stores also have the option of integrating Galileo Online Travel into their existing websites, which they can offer to customers as a full-service online booking solution.

“We are excited to be partnering with Travelport. This new agreement will provide our current and future members with access to a world of content, in addition to new solutions that help us stay competitive,” said Wendy van Lieshout, General Manager, World Travellers.

“Our co-operative structure also ensures that stores really benefit from this partnership with Travelport. As all contract bonuses and rebates are passed back to members in full, stores look to vastly improve their previous GDS benefits, which is unprecedented,” van Lieshout added.

Sean Cummins, Travelport’s Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand said, “This new partnership agreement represents a significant account win for Travelport in New Zealand. We look forward to working with World Travellers and I am confident their network members will value our innovative solutions and dedicated account management support led by Regional Sales Manager, Nikki Dickson.”
