Will-i-am evacuated from Park Lane Hilton following fire

Over 1,000 guests – including Black Eyed Peas frontman Will-i-am – have been evacuated from the Park Lane Hilton following a fire at the property.

Believed to have started in one the kitchens, the fire saw smoke spewing from a second floor kitchen vent.

Four London Fire Brigade engines arrived at the property within minutes.

The Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards - at which Sir Paul McCartney won best live act – had been taking place at the time.

Police reported no injuries during the blaze.

The hotel houses a 28th floor bar with a 360 degree over London and a Michelin star restaurant.

Some 75 per cent of ducting from the basement to the fourth floor was damaged, a spokesperson said.
