Experienced travel industry professional Silvia Vizzoni has been appointed by Australis, the expedition cruise company, to head up sales and business development in the UK and Ireland.

Vizzoni has 15 years’ experience working in the travel industry in the UK, Ireland and southern Europe having worked with a number of leading and prestigious brands such as Qantas, Aeromexico and Fiji Airways.

In 2013, she launched her own successful travel and tourism representation business – ‘BigBlue Collection’ - and Australis will join this portfolio of clients.

Promoting Australis, Silvia will work to develop the sales and marketing strategy in the UK and Ireland, developing stronger working relationships with the trade including tour operators and travel industry and destination associations as well as establishing new connections within the cruise and MICE sectors.

“I am delighted to further enhance and utilise my passion and knowledge of South America through working with Australis.

“The Australis product offers a truly unique expedition experience and I am looking forward to working with existing and new leisure tour operators. In addition I will be focusing on the MICE and cruise markets and seeking to open up business in these areas,” said Vizzoni.

Australis runs intimate cruises through the glacial channels of southern Patagonia and onto Cape Horn.

The three or four day all-inclusive cruises offer scenic adventures through Patagonia allowing guests to experience incredible landscapes and untouched wildlife.
