Victoria Cruises: Chinese New Year sailings sold out; two new Yangtze cruises added
With a greater than anticipated demand for Chinese New Year sailings on China’s Yangtze River – as evidenced by sold out departures on the five-star Victoria Queen and Victoria Cruises’ newest and largest luxury ship, the Victoria Jenna – the Yangtze’s pre-eminent cruise line has announced two new celebratory sailings on the five-star Victoria Prince. These new departures will follow Victoria Cruises’ Three Gorges Highlights itinerary, which sails between Chongqing and Yichang for three or four nights (depending on direction).
Departing Feb. 13 and Feb. 16, 2010, these Chinese New Year cruises are priced as winter specials with rates starting at $470 per person, based on double occupancy (including accommodations, meals, entertainment, onboard lectures and port taxes) – a savings of more than 40% off regular published rates.
Offering visitors the opportunity to experience the breathtaking beauty and intriguing history of China’s Yangtze River at a fraction of the cost, the Three Gorges Highlights program includes spectacular views of centuries-old pagodas nestled along the mist-shrouded river and a scenic experience sailing through the massive Three Gorges, known as one of China’s most visually stunning natural treasures. An additional one-time shore excursion fee of $65 per person (inclusive of all excursions) will provide guests with:
*
An excursion to the impressive Three Gorges Dam Site in San Dou Ping, an extraordinary feat of engineering and major highlight of the river cruise.
*

A tour of a modern relocation village built in Fengdu for families who have moved as a result of the Yangtze’s rising waters brought about by the Three Gorges Dam (alternatively, the Fengdu excursion may be replaced by a visit to Mingshan Hill to observe statues of ghosts and demons).
*
One additional excursion such as a tranquil sampan journey through the Yangtze’s scenic Daning or Shennong River tributaries to the Small Gorges.
Vacationers can enhance their journey by taking advantage of special discounts on lavish accommodations including Junior Suites for $680 per person, based on double occupancy, Deluxe Suites for $890 per person, double occupancy, and the ultimate in luxury, Victoria Cruises’ Shangri-La Suites, which are available for $1,310 per person, double occupancy.
All prices are per person, based on double occupancy. Single supplements are 75% of the cruise fare in a standard cabin and 100% of the cruise fare for suite accommodations. Itineraries are subject to change based on river conditions. These promotional discounts are only valid on direct bookings with Victoria Cruises.
