Travelport signs up Boliviana de Aviación

Travelport and Boliviana de Aviación, the flag carrier of Bolivia, have successfully implemented the sale of the carrier’s air content through global distribution system channels.

With the implementation of their previously announced multi-year agreement, Travelport becomes the first and only GDS to sell Boliviana de Aviación content to its subscribers through a global distribution system, providing its agents with a content advantage in Latin America.

Galileo-, Worldspan- and Apollo-connected travel agents worldwide, including online travel agents and corporate booking tools, are now able to access and sell Boliviana de Aviación’s full published inventory.

This includes the best published fares available on its website, across its network covering the principal cities of Bolivia as well as international routes including Buenos Aires, São Paulo, and Madrid.

Based in Cochabamba, Bolivia, Boliviana de Aviación currently flies within the Americas and Europe, including non-stop Boeing 767 service between Madrid and Santa Cruz. Other international destinations include Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

“As we continue to expand our route network, our partnership with Travelport enables us to reach a significant new customer base,” explained Luis Velasco, marketing manager, Boliviana de Aviación.

“The agreement includes both a direct sell and e-ticket facility, to appeal to both offline and online travel agencies.”
