Travelport and Statesman Travel sign new agreement

Travelport, one of the world’s leading global distribution system (GDS) providers, operating both the Galileo and Worldspan platforms, has renewed its long term relationship with UK independent travel management company (TMC) Statesman Travel.

London-based Statesman Travel will continue to use the Galileo platform after conducting a comprehensive review of the major GDS providers. Central to the deal is the technical and operational benefits provided by Travelport and in particular, the ground-breaking Travelport Universal DesktopTM, planned for launch later this year.

Mervyn Williamson, joint managing director, Statesman Travel, commented: “To increase our efficiency, we constantly keep an eye on all our suppliers to ensure we are getting the very best value. Travelport is an excellent partner of ours and we look forward to continuing this relationship, especially in light of Travelport’s exciting plans for the future.”

Jérôme Moisan, Travelport general manager for UK and Ireland, added: “This is great news and we are focussed on working with Statesman Travel to identify what we can do for the company and their customers to add real value.”

Statesmen Travel was established in 1975 and is one of the UK’s leading mid-sized TMCs, offering a range of innovative on-line solutions backed up by core traditional values. As a founding partner of Travel Solutions International (TSI), its global network caters for multi-national companies that seek a quality global solution.
