Travel search engine Appi Holidays gets off to strong start

In the past six weeks, Appi Holidays has secured the web content of 25 different travel companies in its pre-launch drive to deliver an innovative and useful app to the consumer from Day One.

The app’s range already includes beach holiday specialists, cruise companies, villa holidays accommodation and ski & snowboard companies.

Available both as a free mobile phone app and website, Appi Holidays lets customers search through and cross-reference product from a wide range of tour operators.

Unlike other travel search engines currently on the market, Appi Holidays allows customers to search by holiday theme, inputting their personal travel preferences in order to narrow down the search and find their perfect getaway.

Chris Wright, Operations Manager for Sunvil Holidays, says: “Appi Holidays is the first and only mobile app directory for tour operators. It provides a low risk, cost effective route into the mobile browsing market.

“This avenue is important as it is expected by the majority of customers and if you do not exist in each marketing realm – website, social media and apps – you don’t exist at all.”

David Williams, Marketing Manager for Serenity Holidays, says:  “The bottom line is that customers are using new technologies to research and book holidays, and we need to be able to provide the means to facilitate that.”

As Appi Holidays approaches its consumer launch at the end of August 2011, tour operators and holiday companies are flocking to be a part of the 21st century’s key marketplace.

Alan Kersley, Appi Holidays’ MD, says: “With the dawn of Web 2.0, a customer’s personal interaction with a brand is paramount.  Quite simply, putting your content in the palm of the customer’s hand could not get you closer to influencing their holiday choices.”
