The UK’s first luxury adventure cruise specialist is launched

This week luxury cruise specialist Mundy Cruising is launching Mundy Adventures, entering a new market for people wishing to explore remote locations in style. Forget cruises to generic holiday destinations; the company specifically focuses on remote destinations, often only accessible by water. As the name suggests, the company is geared towards those looking for adventure travel with options to kayak next to icebergs, or snorkel with sea lions yet stay in ultimate luxury.

Mundy Adventures covers some of the best places you can visit by water, such as Antarctica Greenland and the North West Passage, interacting with orangutans in Borneo, sailing the Coral Triangle, or cruising the Amazon and swimming with pink river dolphins.  The experience doesn’t stop there; Mundy Adventures is on hand to help organise your onward travel and can tailor make your adventure for you, offering pre and post cruise hotel stays and tours, flight upgrades, private transfers and much, much more.  Many of these destinations are once in a lifetime experiences and Mundy Adventures feels it is imperative that you get the holiday you want, not that which you see within a holiday brochure, so whether you want to take the Eastern and Oriental Express from Singapore to Bangkok, fly to a nearby city or visit remote islands, the experts at Mundy Adventures can organise this for you.

Itineraries and ships have been handpicked, with those selected offering the very best experience available in each destination. The cruises help open up remote places with poor infrastructure, with a fundamental focus on ethical tourism and forging relationships with people on the ground such as local residents and tribes.

The expedition ships operate very differently from the cruise ships, carrying everything they need, yet still able to accommodate anywhere between 12 and 320 guests. The experienced crew members comprise guest lecturers, marine experts and expedition leaders to help passengers get the most out of the experience on every level. To immerse passengers in the destination and to ensure guests do not miss a thing the captain has the freedom to navigate according to the local conditions and location of the wildlife.

To celebrate the launch of the new service, Mundy Adventures is running Epic Journeys, a photo competition.  Check out their bucket list of destinations and, if you have been to any, all you have to do is submit a photo.  All eligible photos will be added to the website and the one which receives the most votes will win £500 towards a Mundy Adventure cruise.

Jamie Loizou, sales and marketing director at Mundy Adventures explains the appeal: “The beauty of Mundy Adventures is that we are creating experiences to destinations that are best accessed by water.  You don’t need to be a ‘cruiser’ to want to visit the Galapagos or see polar bears in Spitsbergen, however, you do need a spirit of adventure – our programme appeals to people who are looking for something different, but still wishing to have a luxury experience.  We are all very excited to be working on such a product.  And for those who want the luxury, but visiting more conventional destinations, there is always Mundy Cruising, our traditional luxury cruise brand – www.mundycruising.co.uk.”
