SunGroup Hotels launches in UK market
New to the UK market, SunGroup Hotels is a leading privately-owned and family run hotel group in Barbados comprising five unique properties – Almond Beach Resort, Sugar Cane Club, Savannah Beach Hotel, Worthing Court Hotel and Time Out Hotel.
Each with its own distinct character and appeal, some are fully owned and managed and others are operator/management contracts.
Established in July 2014 by managing director, Rod Weatherhead, SunGroup Hotels is a subsidiary of SunGroup, a Barbados-based company with a broad range of tourism services from accommodation, transportation, tours and destination management services.
Weatherhead’s father, Bernard, is founder of SunGroup Inc. one of the largest and most successful companies in the Caribbean and attributes its success to 40 years of experience, a young and enthusiastic management team, a dedicated staff and strong financial base.
Weatherhead has ambitious plans to expand SunGroup Hotels through hotel and resort purchases and management contracts across the Caribbean, to make it the largest hotel group in Barbados.
