Scandinavian Airlines to link Copenhagen and San Francisco

In spring 2013, Scandinavian Airlines is launching a new route from Copenhagen to San Francisco with easy connections from London.

The new service will run six times a week and is scheduled to offer smooth connections from London to San Francisco and North American destinations.

The new San Francisco route will be served by wide-bodied Airbus A340 aircraft, the largest aircraft in the SAS fleet, offering 245 seats with a choice of three classes: Business, Economy Extra and Economy.

An important hub of the US West Coast, San Francisco International Airport offers fast and efficient transfers to an extensive SAS partner route network on the US West Coast and the South Pacific including Hawaii, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, Seattle, Vancouver and Mexico City.

Rickard Gustafson, chief executive of Scandinavian Airlines, said: “North America is an important and growing market for SAS which is always looking to serve markets where there is high demand from Nordic companies and individual travellers.

“We saw a particularly strong demand in the growth area of San Francisco and the US West Coast and hope the new route will benefit both business and leisure travellers.”

SAS will be flying six times a week from London Heathrow to San Francisco (via Copenhagen) on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Flights will launch April 8th.
