Scandic in accessibility focus

Scandic is continuing to develop its customer offering within the area of accessibility. the hotel group is introducing mobile lifts for guests with disabilities at selected hotels in Sweden and Germany.

Due to increased demand for mobile lifts from guests and in collaboration with Neuro Sweden, an association for people with neurological diseases, Scandic is offering mobile lifts at 14 hotels in Sweden as well as at Scandic Berlin Potsdamer Platz in Germany.

“I hope our efforts will help people who perhaps hesitate to travel and stay in hotels because it’s too complicated. If we see that there is a demand for lifts at more hotels, we’ll certainly consider it since we want everyone to feel welcome at Scandic”, says Magnus Berglund, Director of Accessibility at Scandic Hotels Group.

“It is not natural for many people who use wheelchairs to stay at hotels due to the many challenges involved. Mobile lifts are important tools for these people to make their hotel stays smooth and easy. It’s great to see that Scandic is making such significant efforts for people with disabilities”, says Madeleine Kyllerfeldt, Operations Manager at the Neuro Sweden in Gothenburg.
