Rooster appointed to handle Croatia tourism in UK

Following a competitive pitch, the Croatian National Tourist Office (CNTO) has appointed travel and lifestyle specialist Rooster to step up its PR activity in the UK and Ireland.

Rooster’s brief is to promote Croatia’s unrivalled diversity, highlighting the country’s strengths including its 1,244 islands and unique gastronomy.

The agency is also tasked with extending coverage for Croatia’s inland areas and targeting the family market.

“With such a diverse and unique tourism offering we’re looking to attract even more visitors from the UK and Ireland in 2012,” says Meri Matesic, UK & Ireland director of the CNTO.

“We are delighted to have Rooster on board; the professionalism and enthusiasm of the team are a great combination and I look forward to working with them to drive awareness of Croatia and its huge variety of natural and historic attractions.”

The incoming agency’s first priority will be to highlight Croatia’s news and events at World Travel Market, organising Croatia’s annual press conference during the trade show.

Scheduled for 11:30 on Monday November 7th, the press conference will see Croatia’s Minister of Tourism, Damir Bajs, and director of the Croatian National Tourist Board, Niko Bulić, address the media and answer questions on the destination’s plans for the next 12 months.

James Brooke, Rooster’s managing director commented: “We are thrilled to add such a sought after tourist board account to our growing portfolio. Croatia has plenty of potential and we look forward to helping the destination gain even more market share.”

Rooster’s campaign will support Croatia’s key message of ‘the Mediterranean as it once was’ and communicate the country’s unique selling points including beaches, heritage, food and drink and the natural environment.
