Rezidor’s employee satisfaction score increases to 86.7%

Hotel Group’s Climate Analysis 2010 even surpasses top-results 2009
The Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the fastest growing hotel companies worldwide, has published the yearly Climate Analysis. The 2010 results even surpassed the excellent numbers Rezidor has announced for 2009: Rezidor’s overall Employee Satisfaction Score increased to 86.7% (85.7% in 2009), and the Loyalty Score reached 76 (75).

“Despite the still challenging market conditions, Rezidor’s results are outstanding. I am especially delighted to report that all our hotels and offices have contributed to these fantastic improvements – the Climate Analysis shows a very homogeneous picture”, said Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of Rezidor. “Our programmes for people development and people management are industry-leading. The Climate Analysis has proven once again how effective and successful these programmes are”, continued Ritter.

21.443 employees across Europe, Middle East and Africa participated in the Climate Analysis 2010 (vs. 18.472 in 2009). The evaluation of each hotel’s and corporate department’s climate saw particularly good results for the main areas “Creativity and Innovation” with a score of 85,2% (83,9% in 2009), “Ethical Standards” (88,3% vs. 87,3%), “Personal Development” (87,4% vs. 86,5%) and “Executive Leadership” (85,7% vs. 84,7%). The findings tie in with further researches and studies – for example with the recognition as “Most Ethical Company 2010”, an award the think tank Ethisphere gave to Rezidor.

Rezidor focuses on a comprehensive and ambitious 5 step-people development programme. It includes basic trainings around the group’s unique service philosophy “Yes I Can!”, high level trainings like on-job-skills, a Management Development Programme, a company own Business School, a dedicated Mentor-Mentee-Programme for future General Managers, and an award-winning group-wide Responsible Business Programme. “Rezidor continuously invests in people. The people who work for us are our biggest asset and the key drivers of our quality performance and fast growth”, commented Ritter. The group’s current portfolio features more than 400 hotels in operation and under development in over 60 countries.

The Climate Analysis is conducted by Rezidor since 1991 and sees a continuous increase of the Employee Satisfaction Score. The annual survey, using a highly developed and detailed questionnaire, measures the company’s working climate on a set of standards, including communication, development opportunities, feedback and appraisal, leadership and company image and culture. The results do not only mirror the current climate, but also are the basis for activity plans in order to further develop and improve internal processes.
