Music charity Future Talent launches tenth anniversary celebrations Wormsley Cricket ground will host the event

Co-founded by The Duchess of Kent in 2004, Future Talent is the leading UK charity providing sustained support and opportunities to gifted young musicians from low-income backgrounds.

The Charity receives no subsidy and launches its tenth anniversary celebrations with a fundraising day of pro/am cricket and entertainment at Wormsley Cricket ground at the Getty family estate in Buckinghamshire on Thursday June 12th.

The Duchess of Kent will be joined by professional cricketers Ian Salisbury, Mark Ramprakash and Alex Tudor for a six-a-side cricket tournament on one of England’s most beautiful pitches.

Entertainment, by Future Talent young musicians, will include; Poppy McGhee from Chichester and Myrna Tennant from Dumfries.

Hospitality is by Jamie Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts and guests have the opportunity to tour the stunning Wormsley library which houses such treasures as; the first edition of Caxton’s printing of The Canterbury Tales; Anne Boleyn’s Psalter and the first folio of Shakespeare’s Comedies, Histories and Tragedies.

Bidding for a silent and live auction, hosted by Jeffrey Archer, will take place throughout the day and during lunch. Auction items include; a private singing lesson with soprano Lesley Garrett, a match with Tim Henman at Wimbledon, VIP tickets for the British Grand Prix, Dame Judi Dench and Sting memorabilia and the chance to take a tour of the commentary box at Lord’s with cricketing legend Geoff Boycott.

All proceeds from the day will be donated to the work of Future Talent and the young musicians it supports.
