Michael J. Gray Appointed Area Director For Hyatt International, UK

Michael Gray has been appointed Area Director for Hyatt International for the United Kingdom, effective August 1st. In addition to his duties as General Manager for Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill, he will oversee hotel operations for the United Kingdom which include Andaz Livepool Street, London and Hyatt Regency Birmingham.

Michael Gray started his hotel career at Claridge’s, London. In 1974 he joined The Carlton Tower where he held various Management positions and in 1982, when Hyatt International assumed management of this hotel, Gray was promoted to Resident Manager. In 1985 Michael Gray transferred to Singapore as Manager of Hyatt Regency Singapore which then took him on to Australia where he was General Manager at Hyatt Hotel Canberra, a Park Hyatt Hotel and General Manager for the 550 room, Grand Hyatt Melbourne. In 1990, he returned to London as General Manager of Hyatt Carlton Tower. In 2004, Hyatt International assumed management of The Churchill Hotel on Portman Square, London. Michael Gray was appointed General Manager of Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill where he currently oversees the management of this 444 room hotel. In December 2007, Michael Gray was named as ‘Hotelier of the Year 2007’. In September 2009, Michael Gray was elected as ‘Chairman of the Master Innholders’. In March 2010, Michael Gray was made an Honorary Professor of Thames Valley University.
