Boris Johnson may be under pressure to rethink London’s cycling superhighways in the face of the Olympics, but his renowned bike hire scheme has propelled cycling into the forefront of every Londoner’s mind. Commuting and cycling have fused into the shape of a Barclays bike and cycling around the capital has become more popular than ever., the London hotels and entertainment experts, have just released information on a new event that promises to tickle the fancy of cycling enthusiasts and commuters alike: The London Bike show!

This January (13th – 16th) visit the Excel London Exhibition Centre (located in Royal Victoria Dock) for your chance to browse through the many hundreds of bikes on offer at the London Bike Show. Aimed at all levels of bike enthusiast, from those who love a Sunday morning cycle ride around town to daredevil stunt lovers, the London Bike Show is the perfect place to find a new bike, with an emphasis on ‘try before you buy’.

Many of the major bike brands will feature their own stalls; including Brompton, Ridgeback and Saracen. The show also offers an opportunity to stock up on bicycle components care of popular companies like Shimano, who will help kitting customers out with specialist clothing and footwear.

However, The London Bike Show is a lot more than just a bike sale. Exciting bike stunts will be happening around the stalls and shopping areas, so prepare to be wowed as some of Britain’s top bike stuntmen and stuntwomen, such as The Clan from Scotland, take to the floor (and higher!) and show what some of these bikes can do. Don’t try it at home!

For the budding cyclists out there, take some cycling challenges of your own by trying your wheel skills on the three forest trails (for different abilities) or the commuter track and pump tracks. Or take advantage of the on-site coaches who will be on hand to help visitors get the most out the cycle trails.
