LAN Airlines launches Santiago-Los Angeles ticket sales

LAN Airlines has launched ticket sales for its non-stop service between Los Angeles and Santiago, which will operate three times per week between October 16th, 2016 and March 25th, 2017.

LAN’s nonstop Los Angeles-Santiago route will depart from Los Angeles on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and from Santiago on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. 

The new non-stop service will shorten travel times by two hours and 20 minutes when compared to flights with layovers from Los Angeles to Santiago.

Thanks to agreements with partner airlines, South American passengers traveling through Chile to the US will enjoy shorter connection times from Los Angeles to 60 destination within the United States and additional destinations in Asia.

“We’re very happy to resume our nonstop service to Los Angeles using our modern Boeing 787 while offering our passengers a faster travel option from Los Angeles to Santiago, improving connectivity with destinations around the world.

“Expanding and enhancing the network of international destinations of LATAM Airlines Group is essential to maintaining our leadership in the region,” said Pablo Yunis, vice president, sales LAN in Chile.

Currently, the Los Angeles-Santiago route (via Lima) offers 14 weekly flights, enabling LAN to transport approximately 150,000 passengers annually.

With the addition of the new nonstop service between Los Angeles to Santiago, the carrier expects to add another 27,000 passengers.
