Hertz on demand expands in Washington and Montgomery County

The Hertz Corporation announced the expansion of its car sharing program, Hertz On Demand in the Washington D.C. metro area with the addition of 70 new parking spots, including spaces in Virginia and Maryland.

The service is a pay-as-you-go system without an annual fee, providing members with 24/7 access to vehicles strategically located throughout the city. With a range of cars - from electric vehicles and compacts to sedans and SUVs - available both in parking garages, outdoor spaces and in 43 on-street parking spots, the Hertz On Demand fleet continues to be one of the largest and most diverse in the District and the greater Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area.

“This expansion of Hertz On Demand makes car sharing even more convenient and accessible to residents, visitors and workers in the greater Washington D.C. metro area,” commented Mark P. Hertz On Demand vehicles continue to be available in all 8 Wards of the District, and now feature twenty new on-street spaces in Dupont Circle, Farragut North, Glover Park, Georgetown, Columbia Heights, U Street, Potomac Avenue Metro, Liaison Hotel, Eastern Market, and New York Avenue Metro, through a partnership with the District Department of Transportation (DDOT). In Maryland, vehicles are now available by the University of Maryland at College Park and in Montgomery County in Bethesda (Bethesda Metro), Silver Spring (Silver Spring Metro), and North Bethesda. In Virginia, vehicles are available in Arlington at Marymount University and in Alexandria at the Duke Street Metro. Local residents and visitors can sign up online and start reserving cars from one of Hertz On Demand’s local hubs to experience the enhanced member benefits offered by the car sharing club, including:

*Free membership. Hertz On Demand has no enrollment fee or annual membership fee, and offers low hourly or daily rates.
*New rental fleet options include the Dodge Avenger, Fiat 500, VW Jetta, VW Passat, Ford Escape, Nissan Sentra, Ford Fusion, Nissan Frontier (pick up), Chevy Sonic, and Nissan Rogue. All-electric and plug-in hybrid cars, 
  including the Smart Fortwo electric drive and Nissan LEAF, are available at Union Station as part of the Hertz Global EV program. Luxury options, such as Mercedes C300, Mercedes GLK, Lincoln Navigator, Cadillac CTS and
  the Volkswagen EOS (convertible) are also available.
*180 miles a day[1], gas and insurance included in rates.
*Daily rates on Hertz rental car for longer trips; Ability to rent a car for up to 30 days.
*Unparalleled member service including 24/7 live, in-car assistance from a team of Hertz Member Care experts.
*No late fees. Hertz On Demand members will not receive punitive charges/late fees for the late return of a vehicle.[2]
