The Hertz Corporation announced today the appointment of Rafael Girona as Managing Director for Hertz Germany. Mr. Girona is based in Eschborn, near Frankfurt, Germany and reports to Michel Taride, Group President, Hertz International. Elyes Mrad who has been serving as interim Managing Director will continue in his position as Vice President for Sales and Marketing, Hertz International.

Mr. Girona comes to Hertz bringing more than 26 years of experience in the car rental industry. Since 2001 he has served as a Group Chief Operating Officer for Europcar, where he led several acquisitions, Joint Ventures, partnerships and transformational projects. Prior to 2001, he served in a number of operating roles in various countries.

Michel Taride commented: “Germany is the largest car rental market in Europe. Rafael’s proven leadership skills, vast experience and profound understanding of the car rental business and travel industry will be invaluable as we continue to develop our operations in the country.”
