Gulf Air strengthens Qatar operations with seven more flights a week

Celebrating the 62nd anniversary of its operations to Qatar, Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, increased its flights to Doha from 35 to 42 times a week, as of 25 March 2012.

With seven additional flights per week in each direction, Gulf Air is now operating the largest number of flights between Doha and Bahrain.

With the introduction of a new daily afternoon flight, passengers will have greater travel choices to fly to their destinations with short transit times at Bahrain airport in both directions. The new frequency, in particular, offers immediate connections from Doha to Bangkok and London along with providing multiple flight selections to/from Doha throughout the day.

Samer Majali, Gulf Air Chief Executive Officer, said: “Our longstanding commitment to strengthening our regional network is reinforced with the introduction of more flights to Doha. With 42 weekly flights between Bahrain and Qatar, travellers across the Gulf Air network can take advantage of our fast and easy connections via Bahrain as we continue to strengthen our GCC and MENA network. We expect to see continuing strong demand on our Doha route which began 62 years ago.”

“Gulf Air strives to offer greater flexibility and connectivity for our travellers from key markets and the increase in flights to and from Qatar is just an example of the strategic importance we attach to the Qatari market. Additional flights between Bahrain and Qatar only serve to enhance and strengthen the airline’s regional network while reaffirming our longstanding relationship with the State of Qatar” concluded Mr. Majali.

These included Falcon Corporate Plus, offering a range of benefits such as price discounts and free upgrades for corporate travellers; an innovative programme specifically for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Qatar that offers a range of incentives including a double bonanza by which both the member organizations and their travelling employees earn redeemable miles for flights, upgrades and more; ‘Falcon Flyer’ Programme which offers members even more attractive privileges and value added benefits such as bonus miles up to 250%, guaranteed seats, priority baggage handling, half miles redemption and family membership, and ‘Family First’ - competitively priced packages for travelling families, offering special privileges both on the ground and in the air.

The 6th daily flight between Bahrain and Doha was launched on 25th March and arrives into Doha International Airport at 15:15 and departs from Doha International Airport at 16:15.
