One of the largest events in the tourism sector - the East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition (EMITT) is held in Istanbul at the moment. More than 4500 participants from 70 countries presented their pavilions at Tüyap Fair, Convention and Congress Center.

Kazakhstan presents the International Specialized Exhibition Astana EXPO-2017 and its tourism potential in Istanbul. In particular, the tourism opportunities of Almaty, Zhambyl, South Kazakhstan, Mangystau and Atyrau regions were presented.

Mr. Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Turkey and Mr. Kadir Topbas, the Mayor of Istanbul visited national pavilion of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the opening ceremony of the pavilion, Mr. Zhanseit Tuimebayev stressed the importance of diplomatic relations between the two countries. “Turkey - country with a population over 70 million, so participation of Kazakhstan in this event is strategically important. Kazakhstan needs to work hard to make our country an interesting destination for tourists from Turkey, especially on the eve of Astana EXPO-2017, - said Mr. Tuimebayev.

During the official presentation of Kazakhstan exhibition visitors had the opportunity to taste traditional Kazakh food, sweets and drinks. Musical duo, which performed well-known Kazakh music “Balbyrauyn”, “Adai”, “Sary-Arka” attracted great interest of visitors.

It is worth noting that in 2014 Kazakhstani stand was one of the most visited on the EMITT-2014 and took the prize.
