Eurostar services have been suspended following a power failure at the Channel Tunnel.

Eurotunnel, which operates freight and car services, has also been forced to cancel services as overhead power problems knocked out supplies.

Engineers are investigating what repairs are needed to rectify the problem.

Eurotunnel, however, said it is unsure how long this would take.

Eurostar said it has suspended check-in for all trains due to travel this evening.

“We have had to cancel all services planned to depart before 18:00 UK time and 19:00 Continental time,” added a statement.
