Enjoy Waves of Surprises during Christmas Holiday at HKTB’s “Hong Kong WinterFest”

Rock your Christmas Holiday with waves of happenings at the Hong Kong WinterFest by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB)! During the four-day holiday, members of the public can enjoy a diverse line-up of live performances at Christmas Town and the “Winter Harbourfront Pyrotechnics” at this Christmas extravaganza.

During the four-day Christmas holiday, visitors to Christmas Town will be able to take photos with their loved ones under the 20-metre giant Christmas Tree which brighten up Victoria Harbour with its colourful illumination. Visitors can also enjoy a series of festive live performances starting from the evening, from Christmas carol singing to dance performances and instrumental music, imbuing the Christmas Town with festive ambience and inviting visitors to party into the night.
In addition, various festive characters will also meet and greet the visitors at Christmas Town and share their festive blessings. Find the Christmas elves and the reindeers at various festive scenes for photos.
Alternatively, try your luck and visit the Santa, who may be waiting for you at the gift-box-shaped Christmas hut.

For four evenings in a row, the “Winter Harbourfront Pyrotechnics” will take place at the Victoria Harbour at 8 pm on 23, 24, 25, 26 December. Running for about 10 minutes, the pyrotechnic display showers the audience with brilliant sparkles and festive icons to celebrate the festival with the public.
Seize the final chance to enjoy the display with your loved ones along the waterfront promenade in West Kowloon Cultural District and immerse yourselves in the joyous festivity. The “HK” monogram which appeared during the “Harbour Chill Carnival” will return to hype up the blithe ambience in the run-up to the New Year countdown firework musical displays.

The HKTB also celebrated the Christmas in advance with sponsored children and families from Po Leung Kuk on the first day of the “Winter Harbourfront Pyrotechnics”. The group first visited the Christmas Town and the giant Christmas tree. For children who rarely have the chance to go out with their families, the Christmas tree is something eye-opening for them as they were amazed at the grandeur and size of the tree. The children also met the Santa and took photos together. Some children were so excited that they gave a big hug to Santa, saying that “this was my first time to see the Santa. I wish he could always be with me!” The group then enjoyed a dinner in a restaurant nearby and opened their Christmas presents, a colouring postcard of the Christmas Town. Some children decided to send the postcard to their classmates after colouring it themselves to share the warm festive blessing with their friends.

The children also enjoyed the “Winter Harbourfront Pyrotechnics”, the highlight of “Hong Kong WinterFest”. As they enjoyed the colourful display, they also had the chance to admire the night view of the Victoria Harbour. The children kept marveling at the breathtaking beauty of the scenery before them.
The HKTB expressed that the community visit hoped to echo with the theme of love and warmth of the Christmas Town and share blessings in the season. The HKTB hopes that the WinterFest would encourage the public to explore festive hotspots in the city and experience the city’s appeal with scenic spots across town.
