easyJet launches cheap flights to Salzburg

easyJet has announced it will begin operating a new route to Salzburg this winter.

The inaugural flight to Salzburg will depart on Saturday December 17th and will fly twice weekly, with fares starting from £27.99 (one way including taxes).

From tomorrow more than 9,000 seats will be on sale on easyJet’s 33rd route from Luton Airport.

Salzburg is not only one of the finest European destinations for alpine skiers but also one of the most intriguing historically.

The city is the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and also the setting for the popular sing-a-long The Sound of Music.

Hugh Aitken, UK commercial manager for easyJet, commented: “The launch of our newest route out of Luton demonstrates our continued commitment to Luton and to our passengers offering both leisure and business travellers the best choice of low-fare destinations.

“Salzburg is an attractive destination which will appeal to many holiday makers.

“From its musical heritage and stunning architecture through to its ski offering I’m sure it will tick many boxes for the discerning traveller.”

The new Salzburg route is in addition to easyJet’s existing winter route schedule. Passengers can enjoy low-fare flights to popular sun and city destinations including: Madrid, Milan and Sharm-El-Sheikh.

Ski enthusiasts can expect the widest and best value choice of destinations of any UK airline to ski destinations including; Geneva, Grenoble and now Salzburg.

easyJet also continues to offer a range of convenient routes for business passengers on this year’s schedule including four daily flights to Amsterdam and Glasgow and a daily flight to Munich.
