East Lancashire Railway steams ahead with early release of Halloween Ghost Train

Over 2,800 tickets have gone on sale as the East Lancashire Railway prepares for another sold out Halloween extravaganza! Following unprecedented demand for their steam-hauled Ghost Trains in 2011, the East Lancashire
Railway has also confirmed additional services, making it a total of four evening trains on both Saturday 27th October and Sunday 28th October.

Andy Morris, General Manager, said: “The interest in our Ghost Trains was huge last year but it also meant that unfortunately a large number of families missed out on tickets. Our Halloween event has been going from strength to strength since its launch in 2009 and this year is set to be the biggest and best yet!

We are committed to provide our customers with an unforgettable experience and the additional services and unchanged child fares are a wonderful opportunity to treat the family to a special evening out which will undoubtedly get everyone into the Halloween spirit!”

Evening steam-hauled services depart from Bury and are available on Saturday 27th October at 5.30pm, 6.30pm, 7.30pm and 8.30pm, and Sunday 28th October at 5pm, 6pm, 7pm and 8pm.
Tickets include a return steam train ride from Bury to Rawtenstall, live entertainment and a free gift for each child.
