Crowne Plaza Okhla has appointed Biswajit Chakravarty as its Director Sales and Marketing, Shashi Razdan as Crowne Meetings Director and Puneet Saigal as the Director – Food and Beverage. The hotel is scheduled to be launched this month. These additions to the leadership team will support continued growth and success of the Crowne Plaza brand, which is one of the fastest growing upscale hotel brands for IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) globally.

A seasoned professional in the industry, Biswajit has over 20 years of experience in various hotel operations including the Hotel Leelaventure Limited and The Claridges, New Delhi. Most recently, he served at the ITC where he was instrumental in overseeing and driving the successful implementation of sales and marketing strategies to support the hotel’s growth. Earlier in his career, Biswajit held a number of senior management positions for Claridges New Delhi and Park Royal Intercontinental New Delhi.
As the Director Sales and Marketing, Biswajit will be responsible in overseeing and directing all aspects of the Sales and Marketing activities of the hotel. He will play a key role in the planning and development of promotional strategies, managing the sales and marketing team, implementing revenue generating measures and driving hotel performance.
Shashi joins Crowne Plaza Okhla as the Crowne Meetings Director and brings with him over 18 years of experience in several hotel groups including The Oberoi, The Imperial and Uppal’s Orchid. Prior to joining Crowne Plaza Okhla, Shashi held the position of Director of Sales – MICE with Crowne Plaza, Delhi. A graduate from Delhi University, Shashi has extensive and enriched experience in Sales & Food & Beverage Operations.
In his new role, Shashi will serve as the main point of contact for the meeting organizers and facilitators. He will be accountable in executing the Crowne Meetings Cycle and Daily Meetings Debrief to help resolve issues, concerns and ensure that the hotel meets the planner and attendees’ service expectations. Shashi will ensure that all guests get distinctive meetings service which is hallmark of Crowne Plaza’s worldwide.
Further, he will also play a significant role in securing business and enhancing the market position of the hotel in the vibrant market of South Delhi. With seven meeting options, he has a versatile and a very upmarket product to cater to varied needs to Corporate and Social functions.
As the Director – Food and Beverage, Puneet Saigal will oversee the Food and Beverage operations at the 208-room property. He will also be responsible for the profitability, planning, directing and controlling of all F&B activities.
An accomplished professional in the F&B industry, Puneet brings with him over 10 years of experience in the F&B industry across several hotel chains including The Imperial, Hyatt Regency and Grand InterContinental, New Delhi. Most recently, Puneet worked with The Shangri-La’s Eros Hotel, New Delhi as the Director of Food and Beverage, where he led a team of 120 F&B personnel and was successful in maintaining the highest service standards and achieving guests delight.
