Choice Hotels announce new VP of Development for Cambria Suites Brand

Choice Hotels International, Inc. recently announced that it has named C.A. Anderson as vice president of development for Cambria Suites—the company’s upscale, all-suites brand, which was launched in 2005 by the global lodging franchisor and designed to fit the changing needs of today’s modern business travelers. Mr. Anderson will report to David Pepper, senior vice president of global development.

In his new role, Mr. Anderson will oversee the strategic development of the Cambria Suites brand. He will be responsible for leading the franchise sales team in developing and implementing new strategies to increase the brand’s distribution among key markets nationwide, capitalizing on the company’s commitment to the brand, including $250 million in corporate investments aimed to fuel the brand’s growth, primarily in urban markets.

“We’re pleased to have C.A. join Choice and to lead the expansion of Cambria Suites as we continue to aggressively focus our efforts on growing the brand among top-tier urban markets with highly-experienced, multi-unit developers,” said Pepper. “Growing the Cambria Suites brand is one of our top strategic priorities at Choice and with C.A.‘s vast experience within the hospitality industry, we’ll continue to see the brand develop in top strategic markets.”

The company recently broke ground on a new Cambria Suites franchised property in Miami and plans to break ground on an additional location in downtown Washington, D.C. later this year. Throughout last year, the brand unveiled plans for two new properties in New York City and opened a location in downtown Pittsburgh.

Mr. Anderson joins Choice Hotels with more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Most recently, he served as president and chief operating officer of The Dow Hotel Company, a hotel ownership, investment and management company headquartered in Seattle, Wash. Prior to that, his background includes experience at Interstate Hotels & Resorts, Inc., Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers, Inc., Red Lion Hotels, Inc., and Japan Airline Group Companies.
