c2c and Network Rail celebrate new UK record for train punctuality

National Express train operator c2c and Network Rail are celebrating after their teamwork led to another UK record for train punctuality.

In the four weeks ending 13th October, c2c trains were the most punctual in the country with 98.2% of services on time. This means that across the past year 97.4% of all c2c trains arrived on time - a new UK record.

c2c Managing Director Julian Drury said: “We are delighted to clock-up another new record; so much of this continuing improvement is down to close, collaborative and agile working behind the scenes between Network Rail and c2c. Our total focus on reliability and attention to detail means that c2c passengers are now enjoying the most punctual train service in the UK ever.”

Network Rail General Manager Steve Knight, said:  “We have worked hard with c2c to make the train service on this line the most punctual in the country. Passengers may not see a lot of the work our signallers and track maintenance staff do but their focus is vital in keeping the railway running on time. We are not complacent and will continue to work with our colleagues at c2c to continue delivering consistent levels of service for passengers.”

The latest punctuality figures are from the Public Performance Measure, the official rail industry measure for train punctuality which was released by Network Rail.
