Budget seeks franchise partners to grow UK operation

Leading car hire firm Budget Rent A Car, has announced plans to grow the network of branches across the UK.

Currently Budget operates 69 branches across the UK, 46 of which are operated by franchise partners.

The expansion comes as part of Budgets’ focus to increase its UK market share and making the brand accessible to more customers across the UK.

Budget has launched a recruitment drive to attract new partners and independent rental companies along with expanding our existing partners to achieve the opening of over 50 new branches.

The ambitious recruitment programme will support the key commercial objective of driving an incremental £10 million of revenue in the corporate rental market over the next three years.

Anthony Ainsworth, commercial director, commented: “To double the number of franchise locations in our network is an ambitious goal but it also highlights the level of commitment we have towards our existing and new partners.

“This is a unique opportunity to join a multi-national brand, providing our franchises with access to the international customer base of Budget Rent A Car and the support to make their business a success.”

Budget has spent the last six months developing an improved franchise proposition to help support new and existing partners, including a fleet supply programme allowing franchises to benefit from the buying power of Budget Rent A Car.

Joining as a franchisee will also provide the partner with access to fleet insurance programmes; as well as becoming part of the third largest International car hire company.

Ainsworth continued: “The Budget brand has continued to grow across the world and is one of only three truly global car rental brands.

“Our plans for Budget across Europe are ambitious and we aim to make the company one of the key players in our industry, to achieve this we need to expand our networks to provide greater access for our customers.”
