Budget Car Rental to double rental facilities in Europe
Budget Car Rental has announced that it has opened more than 175 new locations across Europe so far this year, with more to follow as part of a strategic growth initiative.
In Germany, Budget is doubling its number of rental facilities.
Since April this year, Budget has opened more than 150 new locations, bringing the total number of rental facilities in Germany to nearly 300.
New locations include Erfurt in the Northeast as well as Göttingen, Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Starnberg in the western and southern parts of the country.
Budget’s expansion in Germany also includes new locations at airports serving Hamburg, Muenster and Dusseldorf, among others.
“The opening of the new Budget Car Rental locations demonstrates our commitment to better serving value-conscious travellers across Europe,” said Larry De Shon, president, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Avis Budget Group.
“Opening at key locations such as St. Pancras, London makes renting a car from Budget more convenient, wherever you are in Europe.”
In the UK, there are eight new locations and Edinburgh which has recently moved.
The new locations include London St. Pancras, which opened earlier this year, and Truro, which will open in the coming months.
There will be six new retail locations opening from September through to October, including Wembley, Yeading, Harlow and a second Budget location for Birmingham.
In France, three new locations have been added in Montpellier, Nice and Marseille.
A further 20 locations were also added across Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg.
This year has also seen a planned investment to expand the presence of Budget in Portugal.
There are now 19 Budget stations in 17 locations, including Faro, Madeira, Oporto and Lisbon.
