Williams Promoted VP, North American Development

Best Western has promoted Mark E. Williams to vice president, North American development. In his new position, Williams will be responsible for development and coordinating plans of new hotels in North America.


Williams has served as regional director, membership development for Best Western International since 1993. He was charged with evaluating hotel properties, educating owners on Best Western policies, as well as representing Best Western at industry trade shows, conventions and seminars.


In 1991, Williams joined Economy Lodging Systems, Inc. where he, as vice president, franchise services, initiated and maintained relationships with franchises and represented the company at industry shows and seminars.


Williams served as regional manager for Cardinal Lodging Group, Inc. from 1989 to 1991. He was responsible for the operation of 10 limited service hotels in Michigan.

From 1981 to 1988, Williams functioned as district manager for Wendy’s International, Inc. (NYSE: WEN) where he conducted market research of new products and analyzed and controlled profit and loss, inventory, sales forecasts and quality and customer service standards.

Williams earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and marketing from Ohio State University.
