Sabre calls Van Winkle to head European strategic planning

Sabre
has bolstered its European growth ambitions by creating a strategic planning post at its regional headquarters in London.

Dan Van Winkle
has been appointed director of strategic planning for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).  He was previously the company’s director of marketing for the region.

Chris Kroeger
, Sabre EMEA’s senior vice president, said Van Winkle would focus on helping the GDS to grow its European bookings share during a challenging time in the evolution of the global travel industry.

 

“Our industry is experiencing rapid and fundamental change.  Dan’s job is to help chart our future course in Europe, ensuring that Sabre enhances its role as an important partner for all its European customer groups in the new-look business environment.”
Sabre will combine its European marketing and customer service departments under the leadership of Stuart Nassos, who becomes vice president of EMEA marketing and customer services.  He was previously responsible for Sabre’s business and customer services in the region.
“Stuart’s experience and relationships with our local customer base will serve Sabre well as we continue to adapt and develop products to meet the specific needs of the European market”, Kroeger said.
