Cathay Pacific Airways today announced the appointment of three new General Managers as part of its annual management appointments. Chitty Cheung has been appointed General Manager, Alliance; Dane Cheng is now General Manager Sales, Hong Kong & China; and Quince Chong has been appointed General Manager, Inflight Services.

Ms Cheung was formerly Cathay Pacific`s Manager Network Revenue. She first joined the airline as a management trainee in 1987 and over the following years has worked for the company in Hong Kong, the United States, and Malaysia. In 1996 she was appointed Route Manager, European Routes, and in 1998 became Manager Network Revenue. Ms Cheung graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Management Studies (Honours).

Mr Cheng first joined Cathay Pacific as a management trainee in 1986. He has since held a number of positions with the airline including Assistant Manager, Thailand; Marketing & Sales Manager Taiwan; Manager Marketing Communication; Manager Alliance; and Passenger Sales Manager ÁV Hong Kong. From 1991 to 1994 he was seconded to Dragonair as Regional Manager Northern China based in Beijing. He graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in English.

Ms Chong joined Cathay Pacific in August 1998 to become Manager Corporate Communication, responsible for all internal and external communication of Cathay Pacific. Prior to joining Cathay Pacific she was employed by the Hong Kong Tourist Association as Senior Manager, Public Relations Department. She has also worked for the Ramada Renaissance Hotel in Hong Kong as Director of Public Relations and Advertising, and as Public Relations Manager of the Regal Meridien Hotel and Regal Riverside Hotel. She is married with two boys.

Ms Cheung replaces Martin Cowley who has left to take up a travel industry position in Australia. Mr Cheng takes over from Alan Wong who has now become General Manager Corporate Communication. Ms Chong replaces Tom Wright who has been appointed Cathay Pacific`s Vice President Americas.
