Mr. Bernd Chorengel, president of Hyatt International, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Patrick J. Hardy to area director - South Asia and general manager of Grand Hyatt Delhi.

In his new role as area director, Hardy will oversee operations of Hyatt`s 23 South Asia properties, and development of future properties. In addition, as general manager, he will oversee the operations of the 387-guestroom hotel located at an environmentally protected area in Vasant Kunj Phase II, just fifteen minutes from the airport and a short drive from Delhi`s commercial centres and national monuments.
Previously, Hardy gained considerable Food and Beverage, Room and Human Resource experience in London, Riyadh and Johannesburg. He joined Hyatt International in 1984 as assistant director of Food and Beverage at Hyatt Regency Kuwait, and served subsequent assignments in Macau, Saujana, Adelaide and Taipei. Hardy was promoted to manager of Grand Hyatt Taipei in 1992, and later to general manager in 1995.
