Garden Inn opens at Toronto airport

Hilton Garden Inn has announced the opening of the 15-story, 224-room Hilton Garden Inn Toronto Airport, in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. The opening represents another addition to the brand’s growing portfolio of more than 400 Hilton Garden Inn locations across North America, Europe and Central America.  The Hilton Garden Inn Toronto Airport is operated by Manga Hotels (Airport) Inc., under a license agreement with a subsidiary of Hilton Hotels Corporation. Manga Hotels (Airport) Inc. is a company that owns and operates four other Hilton Family branded hotels.

“We are excited to expand our presence in the dynamic Toronto market,” said Adrian Kurre, senior vice president - brand management for Hilton Garden Inn. “Opening a location with such convenient proximity to the Toronto Pearson International Airport as well as unique features supporting our sustainability efforts offers both business and leisure travelers visiting the area a refreshing and convenient mid-priced lodging option.”

“We have designed and built our property with special attention to energy efficiency, water savings and environmental health. The Hilton Garden Inn Toronto Airport has applied to be Toronto’s first LEED Certified Hotel. LEED Certification distinguishes building projects that have demonstrated a commitment to sustainability by meeting higher performance standards in environmental responsibility and energy efficiency,” remarked Paul Couto, the hotel’s general manager.

The Hilton Garden Inn Toronto Airport is expecting to meet and exceed the requirements of LEED Canada in the areas of: sustainable site selection and development density; water efficiency and fundamental building commissioning; recycling of all paper, aluminum, plastics and glass; organic dry-cleaning services; construction waste management; use of regional materials; 100% non-smoking building; low-emitting material usage; controllability of systems (thermal comfort and daylight usage); innovation in design; organic menu items; and a LEED-Accredited professional on staff.

“The reason I have chosen the Hilton Garden Inn brand for this unique location is because of its high level of standards specifically catering to the discerning corporate traveler and we are sincerely looking forward to earning status as the first LEED-certified hotel in the Toronto area,” stated Sukhdev Toor, president & CEO of Manga Hotels. “The Hilton Garden Inn Toronto Airport is a testament to the notion that guests can experience superior product and service while staying at a hotel that is proactive about minimizing its environmental impact.”
