Swiss starts new Bucharest service

SWISS is further expanding its network with the introduction next April of a thrice-weekly service between London and Bucharest via Geneva. The new route extends the range of services operated by SWISS via Geneva to ten destinations.

SWISS will be offering three weekly flights between London and Bucharest, via Geneva, from next April onwards. The Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays service will be operated with Airbus A319 equipment. The new route will bring to 23 the number of destinations SWISS offers via Geneva. “Our new service to Bucharest is a further sign of our commitment to Geneva as one of our three national airports,” says Harry Hohmeister, SWISS’s Chief Network Officer. “And we firmly intend to continue with our current Geneva expansion.”

In introducing its new services to Bucharest, SWISS is further strengthening its position in the South-Eastern European market. Romania’s membership of the European Union has increased the country’s trade and transport flows to and from other EU countries. The addition of the new route raises SWISS services to Romania to ten flights a week. Passengers can also use SWISS’s daily connections to Bucharest from Manchester, Birmingham and London via Zurich, providing further flexibility for their travel plans.
