UK may lose more Airbus jobs

According to press reports, the UK may have to renegotiate the job cuts proposed by Airbus following the change in the French presidency.The BBC reports that a committee of MP’s is warning that any attempt to revise the cost-cutting plans for the company may lead to the UK having to bear more job cuts.

Airbus had announced 10,000 job losses in it’s cost-cutting plan with the UK due to lose about 1,500 posts. France and Germany were bearing the brunt of the changes. However, since France has subsequently elected Nicolas Sarkozy, a vocal supporter of Airbus, as its new president. the chances of renegotiation seem very real.
