hotelbook.com picks up marketing award

HSMAI’s annual Adrian Awards Competition has honored Pegasus
Solutions’ site, www.hotelbook.com , with a Silver
Award for Web Marketing Excellence for the site’s 2006 integrated Web
marketing campaign.“I’m pleased hotelbook.com has been recognized as a leader in Web
marketing,” said Wendy Chamier, senior director of eCommerce for Pegasus.
“This Web campaign was designed to achieve optimal exposure for the
independent hotels featured on hotelbook.com. Receiving this award
demonstrates the campaign’s success was not only affirmed by the growing
number of consumers coming to our site, but also by the industry.”

Hotelbook.com’s Web marketing campaign, involving podcasts, blogs,
http://blog.hotelbook.com
e-newsletters and special promotions was developed in collaboration with
Standing Dog Interactive Media and Marketing.  The successful campaign has
contributed to the more than 30 percent increase in reservations this year
for hotels featured on the site.

With a database of nearly 5,000 independent hotels, hotelbook.com features
properties in 144 different countries and 1,564 cities, with 1,600 hotels in
the Americas, 2,500 in Europe and more than 500 in the Asia-Pacific region.

HSMAI paid tribute to hotelbook.com during the 17th annual HSMAI Adrian
Awards Show black-tie gala dinner held Jan. 29 at the New York Marriott
Marquis. More than 800 hospitality, travel and tourism industry and
marketing executives attended. The HSMAI Adrian Awards Competition, the
largest and most prestigious travel event of its kind worldwide, is now in
its 50th year. This year’s contest attracted more than 1,200 entries from 36
countries, with entries judged by teams of experts from all sectors of the
industry.
