Air Jamaica boosts baggage allowance

Air Jamaica has increased its baggage allowance in order to stand out from the competition. What’s more, agents can benefit from a 4 percent commission rate on all bookings.New for 2007, passengers in Deluxe Economy Class can take three pieces of luggage per person at 32 kgs each - a total of 96 kgs, to match the existing allowance in the airline’s Executive Business Class.

That’s not to say that Economy Class passengers have to travel light - they also get a generous allowance of two bags per person at 32 kgs each, ensuring that no Air Jamaica passenger should have to worry about receiving an unwelcome bill upon check-in.

With one of the youngest fleets in the western hemisphere, Air Jamaica is the only scheduled carrier to fly direct to both Montego Bay and Kingston from London Heathrow on a daily basis. The airline’s ‘Red Carpet’ treatment in Economy Class includes a choice of meals with complimentary wines, spirits and Red Stripe beer, and its unique in-flight aerobics.

Air Jamaica introduced the Deluxe Economy Class in June last year in order to meet customer demand for more space at lower prices. It is situated in a dedicated cabin between business and economy, and offers reclining sleeperette seats in a generous 60-inch seat pitch.

In addition, Business Class introduced flat beds for the first time last year situated in an 84-inch seat pitch. Both Business and Deluxe Economy Class passengers are provided with dedicated check-in areas and a tasty meal service with a china and glass try setting and complimentary champagne, wines, spirits and beer.
