Delta Appoints Doug Blissit

Delta Air Lines have announced that Doug Blissit has been named vice president of Public
Affairs, effective Aug. 15. Blissit, a 24-year Delta veteran, was previously vice president-Network
Planning.  He oversaw some of the largest network restructuring projects in
Delta’s 76-year history, including the redesign of the airline’s primary hub
at Atlanta into a continuous hub operation, the enhancement of the airline’s
international gateway at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and
the integration of regional jets into the network.“Over the years, Doug has delivered strong leadership and performance in
network planning and route development in an extremely competitive business
environment,” said Lee Macenczak, Delta’s executive vice president and chief
customer service officer.  “Doug’s industry experience and extensive contacts
in the communities we serve throughout the United States will be invaluable as
he leads Public Affairs for Delta.”
Blissit replaces Harold Bevis, who has retired after a 40-year career with
Delta. “Harold’s passion and respectful persuasiveness have been key in
garnering the support of state and local officials as well as citizens of the
hundreds of communities where Delta operates,” said Macenczak. “His past
contributions as well as his assistance during this transition period will
ensure that Delta maintains momentum in crucial arenas.”
