Barbados Gets New Domain Name
The Barbados Tourism Authority has a new home on the World Wide Web. Visitbarbados.org has been launched to provide travellers with easy access information on the island. “This is such a thrilling moment for us. We can now assure those looking for up to date, accurate information on Barbados a single source to easily find what they need. It’s as easy as click and go,” commented Bill Silvermintz, Vice President of Marketing for the Americas at the Barbados Tourism Authority. “We’ve created a site that is guided by what our consumers told us they wanted to see, and we’re very proud of its interactive ease.”
www.visitbarbados.org will have new additions, such as the Vacation Planner, which will provide a comprehensive on-island information guide as well as special offers for those looking to book a trip. Explore Barbados gives surfers fun interactive maps with site locations and geography facts; Festivals & Events will feature information on the Magnificent seven festivals (Jazz, Holetown, Holder’s Opera, Oistins Fish Festival, Congaline, Gospelfest, Crop Over) and other cultural events and celebrations happening on island. There will also be a guide for Meetings & Conventions planners to research the best way plan a meeting in Barbados.
For the travel industry, there will be new areas as well such as the Press Room, which is an online resource center featuring press releases, press kit materials, calendars, an image bank and latest statistics; and the Travel Trade login section for travel agents and tour operators will allow them special features and offers to share with their clients.
The Chat Live function will enable site visitors to chat with a representative of the Barbados Tourism Authority and ask anything about the island. This will allow even the novice internet user to access valuable destination information.
