New Comprehensive Minnesota Statewide Lodging Guide

Minnesota, a state with virtually as
many lodging options as lakes, now has a single guide that lists virtually
every one of roughly 2,000 properties. The Minnesota Lodging Guide is now available at no charge from the
Minnesota Association of Innkeepers (MAI) in partnership with Explore
Minnesota Tourism, the state’s tourism office. The guide lists every
Minnesota resort, bed and breakfast, hotel, motel and inn as of late 2004,
according to Explore Minnesota Tourism.

The guide is printed in a convenient size that fits in a glove compartment
and also includes maps of the state and other valuable information for
travelers.

“Minnesota is known for its wide range of lodging options, but until now
there has been no single printed directory that lists the wide range of
options,” says Marianna Khauv, president of MAI and owner/operator of the
Best Western Silver Fox Inn, Monticello.

In fact, travelers previously had to turn to four separate guides to get a
good cross section of the state’s offerings. And even with all four guides
in hand, travelers only had access to members of the individual
associations.

“We made the decision to list all lodging properties following numerous
requests from both customers and members of our association,” says Dennis
Breamer, executive director of MAI. “This decision quadrupled the number
of listings in the guide.”

The guide is stocked at travel information centers throughout the state,
as well as at the Explore Minnesota Store in the Mall of America and at
some 500 MAI member properties across the state.

The guide also may be obtained from MAI by calling (800) 568-5739 or from
Explore Minnesota by calling (888)-TOURISM and requesting The Minnesota
Lodging Guide. Requests also may be made by visiting
