Delta to service St. Croix

It has been announced that Delta Air Lines will provide new non-stop service from Atlanta, GA to St. Croix twice a week beginning in March 2005.
“The return of Delta Air Lines to St. Croix is wonderful news. The increase in airlift has tremendous implications for the territory,” Commissioner Richards said. “We worked aggressively to ensure that these flights will provide service to St. Croix from one of our key markets - the southeast.”

The resumption of service by Delta Air Lines to St. Croix has been made possible through a strong collaborative effort between the Department of Tourism and the Virgin Islands Port Authority. Delta will provide service to St. Croix with one of its Boeing 737-800 planes, which has the capability of bringing 148 visitors to the territory per flight.

The new year-round Wednesday and Saturday flights are currently scheduled to depart Atlanta (flight 1777) at 10:25 a.m. and arrive on St. Croix at 3:05 p.m. The return flight (flight 1774) departs St. Croix at 4:05 p.m. and arrives in Atlanta at 7:25 p.m.
