Leisure travelers have once again voted for Iberostar Hotels & Resorts, resulting in the achievement of “Best Hotel Chain.”Ê The esteemed title is awarded by Apple Vacations—one of America’s largest tour operators. This marks the fourth year that Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has received the Crystal Award, established to recognize exceptional quality, service and value. It is the highest and most prestigious award given by Apple Vacations. The award winners are based on questionnaires completed by more than 300,000 guests who evaluated a total of 600 hotels (450 in the Caribbean and 150 in Hawaii).Ê Iberostar Hotels & Resorts President Miguel Fluxá was presented the award on September 14 at the Apple Awards ceremony in Chicago, Illinois. For the first time, travel agents were present at this event and Mr. Fluxá expressed his loyalty to the agents, recognizing the strong and lasting relationship with them in the leisure business. Ê “To be evaluated by our guests and receive this award is the ultimate achievement,” commented Mr. José Antonio González, CEO of Iberostar Hotels & Resorts. “We believe that client satisfaction is due to our commitment to service and quality. We reinvest anywhere from two to five percent of revenues back into the hotels each year. That way, guests feel that they are always stepping into a polished and five-star experience.

“And we can add new restaurants and facilities to keep our product up-to-date and attractive. Our success story encourages new investments and projects in new destinations such as Jamaica and Brazil, both to open in 2006. We will compete for the leisure traveler vote again in 2005 with the brand new Iberostar Paraiso Maya, which will open in December this year,” continued Mr. Gonzalez.
