Hard Rock Hotels Choose Pelican System

Hard Rock Hotels in Bali and Pattaya have signed an agreement to implement Pelican System (Version 2.0) to assist the hotels in rates management and allotment distribution. This agreement also applies to the remaining number of the eight hotels managed by HPL Hotels & Resorts (Singapore), including Concorde Hotels, Casa del Mar - Langkawi, The Lakehouse - Cameron Highlands and Rihiveli Beach Resort - Maldives. The implementation schedule is expected to be completed soon, and will go live on 16 September 2004.

Pelican System is a hotel distribution and reservation scheme that will enable Hard Rock Hotels in Bali and Pattaya to distribute their rates to various market segments, including Internet users, travel agents and corporate clients. With Pelican, hotels can open their room allotment access to thousands of travel agents and corporate clients worldwide without losing control, thus allowing better service through providing instant confirmation to all agents / corporate clients, regardless of size.

“We want to provide better service to all our business partners, including travel agents and corporate clients. With Pelican System we will be able to provide room allotments to all, with easy instant confirmation of every reservation made through our website” said Mr Edmund Nicholas, Vice President of Marketing from HPL Hotels & Resort.

Added Mr Nicholas, “With Pelican System, we will be able to reach out to geographical markets where we do not have a local sales representative. In addition, it also allows us to build our own worldwide agents’ network, attracting interest by providing access to our rates and allotment facilities.”

Pelican System’s allotment structure will allow hotels to set room allotments based on a rate category. At a final stage, a hotel may set a higher room allotment allowance for upper rate categories, to achieve a greater overall yield of hotel revenue.
