Marriott Named 25th Overall in DiversityInc’s Top 50

DiversityInc has named Marriott
International, Inc. 25th overall in its annual ranking of the Top 50
Companies for Diversity. Marriott also ranked fifth in the Top 10
Companies for Asian Americans, and ninth in the Top 10 Companies for
Executive Women. “Managing diversity is a competitive factor for any business, from sales
and marketing to recruiting and retaining the best talent,” said Luke
Visconti, partner and co-founder, DiversityInc. “Marriott’s strong showing
demonstrates its national leadership in managing diversity, especially in
the work force.”

“The company’s ongoing commitment to diversity and our success at
providing opportunities for talented minorities and women has been a
strong component of our growth,” said David M. Sampson, senior vice
president, diversity initiatives, Marriott International. “The company is
proud to be recognized by DiversityInc for the second consecutive year and
acknowledged for the progress we continue to make in expanding diversity.”

The Top 50 Companies for Diversity was unveiled this week on
http://www.diversityinc.com/. The Top 10 Companies for Asian Americans
will also be listed on the website on Tuesday, May 31, and the Top 10
Companies for Executive Women will be appearing on Monday, June 14. All
details about the listings, the methodology and the strengths of the
winning companies, including Marriott International, will appear in the
June/July issue of DiversityInc magazine.
