Alamo Rent A Car enters Turks and Caicos
Enterprise Holdings today announced that it is franchising the use of its Alamo Rent A Car brand to Paradise Auto Rental & Sales Company Ltd of Turks and Caicos. The appointment continues the expansion of the Alamo brand’s footprint in Latin America and the Caribbean. Neal & Massy Automotive Ltd., master franchisee for Enterprise Holdings in the East Caribbean region, completed the agreement with Paradise Auto Rental & Sales.
“We are pleased to bring the convenience and efficiency of our Alamo brand to customers in Turks and Caicos,” said Peter A. Smith, vice president of global franchising for Enterprise Holdings. “With local ownership and its knowledge of the automotive business, Paradise Auto Rental & Sales is an excellent choice as our franchisee in this attractive market.”
Called “the perfect Caribbean island,” Turks and Caicos is a popular destination for weddings and honeymoons and is known for diving, snorkeling and some of the best golf courses in the region. According to the Turks and Caicos Islands Tourist Board, visitors to the islands totaled more than a million in 2012, with nearly 70 percent arriving via cruise ship. During an average week, some 50 commercial flights arrive at Turks and Caicos’ Providenciales International Airport from major airports in the United States, Canada and the UK.
“The expansion of the Alamo brand into Turks and Caicos allows us to bring the highest level of customer service to this popular Caribbean destination,” said David O’Brien, senior vice president and executive chairman of Neal & Massy Automotive Ltd. “Visitors will soon have access to a brand they know and trust.”
Philip Hawkins, general manager for Paradise Auto Rental & Sales, added, “We are excited to join with Enterprise Holdings and Neal & Massy to bring the Alamo brand to Turks & Caicos. This agreement is a win for rental car customers on the island we call home.”
Alamo expects to begin operations with a location at Providenciales International Airport in late 2013 or early 2014.
